Herbs, shrublets or shrubs, prostrate to erect, up to 1 m tall. Stems slender, branched, adpressed silky pubescent. Stipules filiform, 2-3 mm. Leaves 3-foliate; petiole 0.2-2 cm long; petiolules ca. 1 mm long; leaflet blades oblanceolate, obovate-oblong or ovate-oblong, 2-3 cm x 0.3-1.2 cm, abaxially densely silky pubescent, adaxially glabrous, base cuneate, apex obtuse to truncate, emarginate. Racemes terminal or leaf-opposed, many-flowered (up to 16), pubescent. Flowers bisexual, zygomorphic, 5-merous, perigynous. Pedicel 2-3 mm. Calyx 5, fused, subcampanulate, 5-lobed; calyx tube 1 mm long; lobes 2-4 mm long, broadly lanceolate, pubescent. Corolla 5, papilionaceous, yellow; vexillum elliptic to ovate-oblong, ca. 5 mm x 4 mm, base with 2 appendages, apex pilosulose without; wings oblong to obovate, 3-4 mm; keel +/- as long as wings, rounded and narrowed apically from middle, beak long and twisted. Stamens 10, monoadelphous, dimorphic, 5 usually shorter (2 mm long filaments) with oblong and basifixed anthers (0.2 mm long) alternating with 5 longer (4.25 mm long filaments) with small ovoid and dorsifixed anthers (0.1 mm long). Ovary sessile with trichomes, unilocular with 2 ovules, placentation marginal; style long, basally curved, almost always with 1-2 lines of trichomes on apical part; stigma minute, oblique, rarely 2-lobed. Legume sessile, globose, 3-5 mm x 3-5 mm, included or slightly exserted beyond calyx, pubescent, 2-seeded, apex shortly beaked.
